This collage is inspired by the concept of the white flag, as a white flag represents surrender or a truce. It is also inspired by the song Surrender by the band Suicide in which Alan Vega sings “I surrender, I surrender to you.” One of my favorite parts of the song is that its meaning can depend on the listener. Heartbroken? You surrender and give up on love (“too tired to fight for you”) or you can dedicate it to your lover as a declaration of your undying love. I, personally, prefer the lovelorn morose undertones it evokes. The collage features two lovers entwined, a cut open heart to represent none other than an open heart (lol) and a brain and spine cause sometimes you don’t use those when you’re in love 😂
anyways,
